Our service advisors will advise on the manufacturer’s recommended replacement interval for items not included in the service, such as cambelt replacements, spark plugs, add blue, brake fluid and rear brake drum strip/inspection.
For vehicles requiring differential oil renewals per the manufacturer’s recommendation, we are able to provide guidance on the correct intervals and procedures and offer a quotation for this to be carried out.
For vehicles with automatic transmissions that require servicing as per the manufacturer’s recommendation, we can advise on the correct intervals and procedures and offer a quotation for this to be carried out.
Please note: Please note: Our prices include VAT where applicable. We are able to carry out MOTs and servicing the majority of vehicles but some vehicle exclusions may apply. Our service prices can vary depending on a combination of factors which include the recommended oil for your vehicle. Please note our fixed servicing prices are suited for vehicles out of the manufacturer’s warranty and exclude the following: High-performance vehicles & all commercial vehicles. Our standard Engine Oil and Filter Change includes only the replacement of the oil and filter on your vehicle. This is not classified as a minor, or major service, therefore we are unable to stamp service books or update the online service history for this procedure.

WHY ITS IMPORTANT TO SERVICE YOUR VEHICLE?
Regular servicing can help to identify potential problems before they become costly. That’s why it’s important to have your car serviced regularly. Servicing will make sure that essential checks are carried out on critical vehicle components so that these vital parts don’t let you down when you need them most. Regular servicing provides peace of mind that the vehicle is in road-worthy condition.
Failing to service your vehicle yearly to save money is a false economy. Regular servicing can help identify issues early on that could become costly and expensive to rectify. It will also help you at the petrol pump as new oil and air filters will ensure a smoother-running engine and a more fuel-efficient car.
Regularly servicing your car will undoubtedly improve the life span of the vehicle. Plus, when you’re ready to sell a car with evidence of regular servicing (or, even better, a full-service history), it will likely attract more potential buyers and a higher selling price.
HOW OFTEN SHOULD YOU SERVICE YOUR VEHICLE?
As a general rule of thumb, it is recommended that your car receives a service every 12 months or 10,000 miles (whichever comes first).
A major service is recommended to be carried out every 2 years regardless of the mileage.
A minor service is recommended to be carried out in the interim. Although a minor service is a much-simplified service, it includes essential health checks to ensure your vehcile is in a road-worthy condition.
If your vehicle is still under manufacturer warranty (up to 3 years old), we also provide manufacturer servicing for all vehicle makes and models using official manufacturer service schedules to determine when your next service is due and the type of service required. We also ensure your vehicle manufacturer warranty stays fully valid by using parts and oil that match the quality of the manufacturer’s original equipment.
If required, we are also happy to carry out any customised servicing requests.
If you are not too sure on what service your vehicle is due our service reception team will be able to assist you.
IS AN ENGINE OIL & FILTER CHANGE CLASSED AS A SERVICE?
While an engine oil & filter change is a key area of car maintenance, it is not classed as a service as it does not include the full range of vehicle checks required to stamp your service book or to reset your service light. The engine oil & filter change is a great way to ensure reliable performance and provide peace of mind if your service is not due yet. An oil & filter change is also commonly carried out to rectify Oil dilution faults.
If your vehicle is due for service, we strongly recommend you opt for a minor or major service.
HYBRID & ELECTRIC VEHICLE SERVICING
GX provides a tailored hybrid & electric servicing packages that follows your manufacturer’s service schedule and won’t invalidate your warranty.
Our electric vehicle service isn’t available to book online as we need to provide you with a quote based on the manufacturer’s service schedule that considers several factors, including your vehicle’s age, model, and mileage.
For more information about electric servicing at GX please contact service reception.
WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING WITH ME?
Please bring your vehicle service book (if the vehicle has one) so the technician can stamp it once the service is completed. This isn’t essential, but a service stamp in your service book each time your car is serviced can increase its resell value and show potential buyers that it has been well maintained. Don’t worry if you have lost it, as your invoice from us will include a fully detailed breakdown of parts and oil used. Please also bring your locking wheel nut key so the technician can carry out repairs that require the removal of the wheels, if necessary. You’ll be surprised how often we need to remove the wheels to get access to certain components.
