Just to give you some feedback on the repair!  Engine is going as smooth as silk now (touch wood!) and mpg has startlingly improved now that the remap can do its stuff.  I am getting 30-33.5 mpg even on short runs compared with previous 26-28 tops.  So pass it on to your Dad that the car is finally going how I always hoped it would thanks to his attention to detail!
