Here at GX Landrovers we have the facilities to carry out mot tests on all Land Rover models.

During the MOT test the MOT tester, will conduct a comprehensive inspection to ensure your Land Rover is in roadworthy condition. However, it is not the same as having your Land Rover serviced and the MOT test does not check the general mechanical condition of the vehicle. Also, the assessment is based on the condition of the vehicle on the day.

If your Land Rover passes, the nominated tester will separately list and inform you of any ‘advisory’ or ‘minor’ items that will require attention in the near future so you can keep an eye on them.

However, if your Land Rover fails its mot we will call you with a detailed quote explaining the failures and what work is required to get it to pass the mot.

An mot test takes 45 minutes – 1 hr, we have a customer friendly waiting room where you can wait for your mot to be completed or you can drop your Land Rover  with us and take one of our free courtesy vehicles so you can get on with your day. (Please note GX courtesy vehicles must be booked in advance)

Once we have carried out an mot test on your Land Rover we will automatically add you to our text reminder system free of change and remind you a month before its due the following year.

We can also service new vehicles within manufacturer’s warranty. All parts & oil that we use are all OE (original equipment) quality approved to keep your manufacturer’s warranty valid.

THE GX LANDROVER  INTERIM SERVICE

This service is a basic service designed for high mileage vehicles to be carried out between yearly services. This service also includes a 36 point check.

This service includes the following:

•   Oil and filter replacement
•   Air filter replacement
•   Basic health check
•   36 point check (see our Land Rover check sheet chart for further details)
•   Complimentary exterior wash off

THE GX LANDROVER YEARLY SERVICE

This is a yearly service is designed for all vehicle makes and models and is recommended to be carried out on a yearly basis. This service will help towards trouble free motoring throughout the year with our thorough Land Rover 76 point check that also includes additional checks from genuine Land Rover service schedules. During this service we also carry out a Land Rover diagnostic plug to help catch any unexpected surprises that may arise in the future.

This service includes the following:

•   Oil & filter replacement
•   Air filter replacement
•   Pollen filter replacement
•   Fuel filter replacement
•   Full Land Rover diagnostic report worth £60
•   Full health check

VIEW GX LANDROVER SERVICE CHECK SHEET

How it works – First we carry out a leak test and unlike other garages here at GX Landrovers we add a complementary ultraviolet dye to the aircon gas which will enable us to trace any hidden leaks on your aircon system before regassing. Once the leak test is successfully completed the mechanic will then regas the aircon system to its full capacity. Once regassed we will test the aircon system to ensure your aircon is running to its best ability.

If in the unfortunate event that a part within the aircon system is faulty, we are able to diagnose the problem and provide a quote to repair.

As well as fitting and balancing tyres here at GX we are also able to carry out Wheel alignment.

The wheel alignment of your car has a big impact on the lifespan of your tyres. Bad alignment can cause your tyres to lean into one another which will cause abnormal wear to the tread. Your car will also have to work much harder than normal, which can lead to burning more fuel, damaging your suspension and hampering your steering.

We carry out 2 different types of wheel alignment:

2 wheel alignment also known as tracking this is ideally suited to most vehicle makes and models. 2 wheel alignment is normally carried out when new tyres are fitted but can also need to be carried out when replacing certain suspension parts.

4 Wheel alignment ideally suited for Land rover vehicles and vehicles fitted with adjustable rear suspension. 4 wheel alignment is normally carried out when new tyres are fitted but can also again similar to 2 wheel alignment need to be carried out when replacing certain suspension parts on 4x4s and vehicles with adjustable suspension.

When carrying out 4 wheel alignment,sometimes we can come across seized suspension such as track rod end & Inner rack knuckles. In the unfortunate event of this happening on your vehicle rest assured we have the facilities and latest equipment here at GX to unseize any components at fault.

Most modern Land Rovers today contain an on-board computer known as an Engine Control Unit (ECU) which continually monitors the performance of the vehicle. Sensors all around the vehicle report back to the ECU if there are problems such as low fluid levels or increased engine temperature. When an issue is identified the ECU generates an error code. The relevant dashboard warning lights will then be displayed.

There are literally hundreds of potential error codes that can only be read by a Land rover specialist vehicle diagnostic equipment. While a warning light may display on the dashboard alerting you to an issue, a diagnostics check is required to understand the full extent and cause of the problem.

At GX Land rovers we use the most up to date Land Rover diagnostics kit which can read the engine fault codes in your vehicle’s ECU’s memory. Our fully-trained technicians can then suggest any necessary repairs to get you back on the road and rectify the error so there’s no need to pay vehicle dealership prices for your diagnostics check next time a dashboard warning light appears in your car.
